About The Jones Trio
 Robert, Rosa, and Arnesia

Robert B. Jones, II is a native Detroiter and attended the Renaissance High School. While there he would begin his professional career, as a member of the nationally-renowned Renaissance High School Choral Music Department. Robert also spent time and completed coursework in vocal music education and performance at Alabama A&M and Madonna Universities.  His professional Gospel Music career would continue to thrive throughout the years with his membership with several professional aggregations including, most notably, Dr. E LaQuint Weaver & The Hallelujah Singers. Robert was heavily featured in the Emmy-award winning documentary “Let’s Have Some Church Detroit Style” released in 2015. He has worked professionally as Minister of Music for Sweet Kingdom Missionary Baptist Church of Detroit, MI for 10 years and the Director of Chapel Activities for The Salvation Army SEMI Adult Rehabilitation Center for 5 years.  Robert is also a licensed Minister in the Baptist Church. He has worked extensively producing musical shows and stage productions since 2015. Robert most recently has become the Creative Brand Manager of The Jones Family Trio, of Detroit, MI, a diversely trained trio of singers who offer both secular and religious music programming.  Robert is the Musical Director and Arranger of the Trio.

Rosa Warner-Jones has been singing since before she could actually form full sentences. Raised in a Christian home, it was imperative that she be active in the church. Noticing her gift early on, her mother placed her in the children’s choir, but the gift and the minister of music made room for her in the Young Adult choir. Rosa has been singing in the church since childhood while living in her hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

Her first professional exposure was as a member of the Grammy Nominated Central State University Chorus in Wilberforce, Ohio, where she attended college. While there on scholarship, Rosa had an opportunity to be a part of the Telarc recording Amen! A Gospel Celebration. The project included The Central State University Chorus, Azusa Pacific Concert Chorus, the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra under the direction of Mr. William H. Caldwell and Mr. Eric Kunzel. The recording also included performances with Maureen McGovern, Jennifer Holliday, and the late Cab Calloway and Lou Rawls.

After moving to Detroit, Michigan in 1996 she soon joined New Light MBC. By June of 1998, she had performed with numerous local Detroit gospel groups. Singing with these local groups earned Rosa the opportunity to be cast in local community stage productions. As member of Tabernacle MBC under the leadership of Dr. Nathan Johnson, Rosa was given the responsibility of ministering during the praise and worship period of the service. In 2023 Rosa premiered her one-woman-show, "Mahalia", as a performing tribute to the legendary Mahalia Jackson. She is now, a member of Sweet Kingdom MBC where Robert B. Jones, Sr. is Pastor, Rosa is currently a part of the music staff where she facilitates praise and worship.

Arnesia Jones (Necie) is a native Detroiter and attended the Detroit School of Arts (DSA). She was quickly recruited into various of the school's singing groups including the "Lady Achievers" and "The Voices of Distinction"under the direction of Mrs. Cheryl Valentine and Mrs. Sheila Sipes.  Arnesia also participated in the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.  Finally, while  attending DSA she performed in various productions, with her role of Effie White in "Dreamgirls", being the most notable. In fact Arnesia won a Detroit wide radio completion to sing alongside national superstar, Jennifer Hudson at Detroit's Music Hall.  As the originator or "Necie Sings" she produces her own concerts while being backed by a wonderful team of singers and instrumentalists. It is safe to say that music has played a very important role in her life and there's no chance of that stopping anytime soon. She is the originator of the "Necie Sings" movement. Arnesia was a chapel singer for The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center where she serves every Sunday. She is a youth leader and an advocate for all things musical.  Arnesia has also performed in concert and for corporate events alongside her father, Rev. Robert Jones, a nationally recognized musician and storyteller.   Arnesia is ready to walk in her calling and prays that you will support her along the way.

The roots of  Jones Family Trio started in 2009 when Robert, Rosa and Necie began singing with Dr. E. LaQuint Weaver.  All three had been singing for many years before this.  Robert and Necie had been born to Rev. Robert and Bernice Jones, and raised as a part of Detroit's Sweet Kingdom Missionary Baptist Church.  Sweet Kingdom boasted a reputation for producing great gospel singers including the nationally known group, the Christianaires.

Rosa, on the other hand, was born in Columbus, Ohio.  She, like Robert and Arnesia, discovered her gift for singing in her early childhood.  Having participated in a number of choirs and groups, Rosa relocated to Detroit.  This would bring Robert, Rosa and Arnesia into the one of Detroit's most well known and award winning gospel groups, E. LaQuint Weaver's Hallelujah Singers.  All of the members of the Jones Trio are prominently featured in the nationally distributed documentary, "Let's Have Some Church, Detroit Style" produced by Big Hen Films.

In 2013 Robert and Rosa were married, and in 2015 Robert was hired as Director of Chapel Activities for The Salvation Army SEMI Adult Rehabilitation Center. As Chapel Director, Robert was responsible for planning, directing and conducting the weekly religious service for those housed at the Salvation Army's main campus in Downtown Detroit.  Rosa and Arnesia joined Robert in this new and challenging project.  Rosa worked as Robert's main assistant, often mentoring the women in the program that were in recovery.  Robert and Rosa would serve in this capacity until a serious auto accident in 2021 changed the trajectory of his life and ministry.  In the midst of his almost two year long recovery, Robert decided to focus his attention on combining his experience with music, ministry, worship and family in a new way.  Thus was born the Jones Family Trio.
